Ultimately I think you’re right, but on the other hand, do your really expect Mr Weather Map Sharpie to not try to pass off dumb blatant lies?

That time Taskmaster was trying to figure out who’d done a little trump on camera upon seeing a taxidermy chicken
I don’t think Columbia’s hard up for cash either, but they folded like a cardboard lawn chair

These kinds of people could lose 90% of their wealth and nothing material would change in their lives (ok maybe after they drop down to mere 100 millionaire status they’d have to sell the mega yacht). It’s hilarious to see people like this getting upset because “number went down”, when they could just choose to not be upset about it-- they’re literally too broken in their brains to be happy.
Why are these judges not issuing arrest orders for those involved in denying their edicts? We all know the melting orange isn’t personally putting people on planes (he never personally does anything except drive a golf cart and eat hamberders), so surely the people involved in openly defying judges can be arrested, no?
I thought they were firing Drunky Smurf for a second there. Guess he hasn’t embarrassed the admin enough yet-- maybe after he gets some citizens killed by drunk texting

The Seth Meyers clip from this article is from 2016
Senator Booker stood on the floor
For a day (plus an hour five minutes)
To speak out on Orange acts all should deplore,
Though at last even he found his limits.
Observers made comments showing support,
“At last, at least some piece of action!”
Yet others despaired and were seen to retort,
“Too late!” for the Democrat faction.
But a rare beam of hope as a flash in our lives
Shines all the more bright for the dark.
And signals perhaps—gives a reason for why—
His speech shows an important mark
Of a record, now smashed, was hereto unbroken,
And for 70 years sowed division.
If for no other change we’ll know that he’s spoken
And created historic revision.
it’s a mystery for sure
The democrats are largely controlled by corporate shills but I think if they had like 12 years in office we could wrench the country back on a reasonable path.
I know today’s 10,000 and all that, but if there are people who made it to lemmy without running across loss I’d love to understand how
I’m a bit of a grammar/language nerd-- I think it’s interesting to see the different structures of languages and the various ways concepts get communicated. Also by looking at what’s on the level of single words you can get an idea about what’s important culturally.
For example in Japanese, there’s not really a word for brother or sister, you always have to say olderbrother or youngerbrother. That’s because the hierarchy of ages was important enough culturally to get codified into the language.
