      Also, slug ammo is a must. You’ll need to get through that armor they wear and that’s your best bet. Teach the others in your house how to shoot and gun safety.

          I suppose that author meant using steel birdshot and buckshot as AP rounds. But, sadly, even steel buckshot doesn’t work well against body armor while also doesn’t provide much difference in creating a wound channel. But, the other thing is slugs, since there exist non-lead(copper, brass, bronze, iron, steel) slugs, which indeed act as good AP rounds. These ones are a real deal even against military armor rated for the assault rifles.

            Thank you! I forgot to take in account the body armor aspect of bird shot vs slugs. I’ll delete my comment. My brother was weapons specialist in the army. So I just poorly regurgitated what he told me to use for home defense back in 2020.

            You’re just describing what a shotgun shell is. The “small metal balls” could be steel, lead, bismuth, or anything else really
