In no way shape or form is that a “Republican” problem. Democrats have been happily handing ever more power to the Executive for decades. As I’ve said in other places this is a symptom of Congress members being more worried about re-election and campaign donations than handling the business of the nation.

I’m beginning to wonder if the education we received was entirely on purpose.

I graduated in '91 from a town in the MidWest with about 30,000 people. We covered “separate but equal”. I tire of people blaming the education system when in reality most people are ignorant by choice.

Should we also show “empathy” to Klansmen who joined up because they claim to feel disenfranchised by society?

There’s a chasm of difference between empathizing with a Klansman and empathizing with people who followed a normal, and I use that word loosely, cultural track. The two are so distinctly different that comparing them is absurd.

I’m a man, I’m lonely. Why? Because I spent the last 30 years building a career and my social circle is tiny. My personal hobbies and interest took a back seat to building my company, helping my wife through a 2nd and then 3rd Masters Degree, and raising my Son.

Personal Hygiene? Showered at least every day. Dress Well? I’m in collars, slacks, and dress shoes at least 5 days a week. Smell Good? Yeah, got it covered. Smile? Yeah, got it covered. Show Respect? Yeah, got it covered. Practice Good Manners? Pretty rich coming from you.

Go outside and stop blaming women for everything.

I agree that the Republicans are letting the President get away with this and it’s going to destroy Trump and his cronies when they lose control of Congress.

It’s really amazing how the GOP members of Congress have willingly given up their power.

I have to chime in on this one. The President didn’t just suddenly get all this authority; both mainstream parties started handing it over willingly decades ago.

The Executive Branch of our Government, led by the President, is in control of far too many things.

Sadly it’s a near inevitable outcome of an overly powerful Federal Government attempting to deal with a population this large. The more powerful the Federal Government gets the less able it is to balance the different desires of its citizens and the less popular it becomes.

The solution was to NOT have such a powerful Federal Government but we tossed that out the window around somewhere between 1900 and 1920. It may not happen now over this but the clock is ticking and it’s going to happen at some point over something.

It will be terrifying and terrible when it happens.
