Plenty of communists see a form of Anarchism as the goal endpoint, but realize the need for strong state power in the hands of workers to get there.

NewDark@lemmings.worldto News@lemmy.world•Kids born today are going to grow up in a hellscape, grim climate study finds37·9 days agoIt’s capitalism.
Oil companies have known about this shit since the 70s and there’s been billions spent to manufacture your consent, keep the current power structures, and prevent change. Both parties maintain that status quo, don’t forget that.

NewDark@lemmings.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israeli official says Gaza will be "entirely destroyed," Palestinians "will start to leave in great numbers"English3·17 days agoI respect that stance.
The only people I’m deeply frustrated by are the ones hand wringing about why people didn’t vote the way they wanted, and hand wave how dogshit Kamala was.
NewDark@lemmings.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israeli official says Gaza will be "entirely destroyed," Palestinians "will start to leave in great numbers"English11·17 days agoI mean, I voted for neither. Sorry, the red line has to be somewhere in this “democracy”.
NewDark@lemmings.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israeli official says Gaza will be "entirely destroyed," Palestinians "will start to leave in great numbers"English1·17 days agoIf there isn’t a choice in whether the genocide support happens, I prefer the US to weaken and isolate itself globally by kneecaping its relations with other western nations.
If I said, I prefer Nazi Germany to not have allies while they are committing the final solution, I think you would understand why I have this position.
NewDark@lemmings.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israeli official says Gaza will be "entirely destroyed," Palestinians "will start to leave in great numbers"English2·17 days agoHonestly I prefer that. Isolating the empire and getting the rest of the world against the country facilitating genocide is good to me.

NewDark@lemmings.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Dozens of Palestinians starved to death under Israel’s blockade of GazaEnglish1·20 days agoThis framing kind of sucks, but it’s close.
It’s still a land grab, and they’re actively grabbing land in the west bank, in Lebanon, and in Syria.
They’re fascists that have purposefully fomented this violence as the apartheid state. They want the land and some justification they can wave around. This is why Oct 7th exists.
The irony is, the more successful they are in their depraved violence and theft, the more they will become a pariah globally. I can’t see the future, but this feels like a fascist death spiral that will end Israel.
And if people voted for the democrats, and they continued the genocide which I’m certain they would, they would be far more culpable.
Sorry, it’s a democracy. Threatening (or actually) withholding your vote is a valid tactic to get concessions. If that isn’t true, this isn’t a democracy (and I’d argue it already isn’t and hasn’t been but the theoretical one we understand).
That’s what you care about? 2 million people are being starved, bombed, and shot, and you’re bitching that people had a conscience not voting for the party perpetuating it? Maybe they could have done the bare fucking minimum and not full throatedly supported ethnic cleansing and genocide. Jesus christ man.
I’m not thoroughly read up on theory and I’m not about to heavily defend the previous argument. I’m still not certain after reading in between replying here.
I don’t see why a centralized state can’t have more flattened power hierarchies, especially as needs and material conditions are improved.
