Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•We all took foreign languages in school and none of us can actually speak those languages
1·6 days ago300 didn’t seem like much tbh. Source: am Indonesian, or as we called it Komodos
In no particular order
- Frieren
- Natsume’s Book of Friend
- Tanaka-kun is always listless
- Hunter x Hunter (2011)
- Seitokai Yakuindomo
And if the rest of the season is as good as the pilot episode, Journal with Witch. I’ve been waiting for the episode to comes out so I can hear what Asa was singing before the Bieber joke. It was delightful.
Eh, I’ll throw Sword of the Demon Hunter there aswell. I’m in my mid 30s so I don’t really care about battle scene as much, though I wish it got better animations. You could say the story is similar to Frieren, though not as tight.

3·13 days agoI don’t think you need to justify your purchases to anyone.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are your favourite non-political Lemmy communities?
3·23 days ago!worldbuilding@lemmy.world. I want other people besides me to post there more often.
I didn’t see any post there? Is it just on my end ?

I love the silly early to middle phase. The late game mechanic always bored me (IIRC haven’t launch it in a while).
I want spore with more involved prey predator mode, let me be vicious goblin.

I put it in my homescreen, very useful.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How can I optimize my jellyfin, specifically transcoding and the CPU usage involved? I'm running it off a mini pc so resources are everythingEnglish
1·3 months agoI watch a bunch of weekly anime stuff myself. Never have to worry about transcoding with my devices (locally) and just directplay it. Unless I watch it remotely then it transcodes, I never mess with the default settings and it’s fine.
My cpu is i3 8100 so I think you would be fine as well, unless it’s multiple streams at once I have no reference for that.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was something that you thought was overhyped that actually lived up to the hype?
2·6 months agoWould you mind elaborating on your experience? Why was it exciting ? What came through your mind at the time ?
I’ve seen a solar eclipse but I’m in elementary at the time and didn’t care for it. Now I wonder if it must have been kinda terrifying the old human thought their God was mad.

2·7 months agoWhat did you dislike about synfonium? I’m considering switching since I don’t have a plex subscription anyway so I did not get to enjoy the sonic analysis featured etc.

Hi, from the future. I just look up “oled wallpaper” and pick this one 3 years ago.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something people use the internet for that can be done just as easily offline?
4·9 months agoI also do this. But I do not necessarily think it as a bad thing.
I do not need to finish the book in one sitting, it’s fine to wander, I usually just just went on a tangent on a relevant topic though. Reading for an hour is fine, as is a 5 minute session.
Maybe immersing myself reading books just not that fun for me. But I can sit for hours studying music even without touching my instruments, just reading the chart and analysing the harmony and what not. I think reading like any other skill, needs training and I just haven’t give it enough time.
I’m a late millennial, and like it or not I’m used to being able to access relevant context and information with just a click (like Wiki).
Well, I tried to makes fun of you missing the million unit there, hah.
And to be honest there’s virtually no one actually speak formal Indonesian in daily life beside media/government stuff. Excluding the capital most city will speak their regional language especially older folks.
It’s always funny hearing newly learned non-native because the grammar is so easy and consistent but they sound like a rigid ancient soap drama to my ear.
