Unfortunately video platforms are also much harder on small hosts. More storage, more bandwidth, harder to moderate.

I feel like the solution might be a media management company, like buffer, offering to host videos directly and over a open protocols for a small upgrade in addition to posting to YT et all.

It’s a pretense to shake down nonprofits with any connection to defending our rights. Open their books and make a mountain out even the slightest mistakes. Scare opponents into inaction.

However bluesky is not decentralized. This is handled by their appview, which other bluesky clients might change

I think communicating that someone is blocked is a useful part of blocking. Even if it’s just a notification after comment “you have a blocked reply, it will not be visible to the poster”.

This does come with a (maybe trivial) cost for those hosts of not being able to enter the UK.
