“Championing the status quo” is not how I would describe what Republicans are doing right now.

I’m guessing librarians know how to read more than many other categories of federal workers.

Those are two different problems.

Years and years of politicians moving the goalposts further right, letting the rich get richer, allowing more money into politics and disenfranching voters is not something you reverse in a single election, and it won’t change until ordinary people get into politics more and at every level.

But if you vote for Trump or abstain from voting, you’re encouraging it.

I think his top priority was to avoid confrontation. He has experience with dumb politicians from his time at the bank of England.

Carney had to use a word Trump understands.

But remember folks, calling this a genocide is antisemitic.

They’re more afraid of MAGA than they’re afraid of ordinary citizens. Nothing will change until it’s the other way around.

This, 100%. Fanning the flames of outrage only works on people who are already on your side.

As a Canadian, I can assure you the anti-american sentiment does not come from any rhetoric being pushed. The actions of trump and co are quite enough.

I don’t think you can claim refugee status in Canada if you are an American citizen.

If Democrats had some sort of plan against what’s happening, they would ALL be saying this, over and over, to all journalists in every news organization and podcast.

They should lead the pushback but they look like spectators.
