I am a big fan of the original show, despite its many shortcomings, and rewatch it still periodically for nostalgia.

The Return however is IMO absolute pinnacle of television as an art form, I am not sure it will be equalled in my lifetime, if ever. I am really glad Lynch got to make it, and didn’t pull any punches and created a singular uncompromising masterpiece that spoke directly to the core of my being.

I totally get that it isn’t for everyone, but that’s ok - it’s a minor miracle people who do appreciate that kind of TV got a show for us.

The #1 best show is Twin Peaks: The Return of course :)
