The difference is that the board/CEOs can actually be held accountable by shareholders, and aren’t nearly as easily distracted by the jangling keys of “immigrants and trans people”.

They’re evil and greedy fucking monsters, but it also means they’re very easy to understand. Line go up = good, line down = bad, and this decision made line go down.
