No. It’s not. Constitutionally anyway. But… considering the Terrorist Party is above all law it seems….

Keep in mind, they’re doing this while protecting multiple child rapists within their own party.

I genuinely hope we have mass executions one day for the scumbags taking us for a ride.

Republicans have no intention of abiding by the law, listening to voters, or actually governing. With them, it’s all about the racism, cruelty, and lawlessness. Never let them have power again…

Just come out and say it you fucking cowards: you are simply racist and have hatred towards Palestinians.

I will dislike you more, but at least you are honest in this regard.

great news, enough dems caved and the senate passed a funding bill, without any of the demands the dems were making in the beginning.

i saw a meme that those light switches that don’t actually do anything are actually to switch you between timelines. maybe i fucked it all up when i flipped one of those switches back in 2015.

The Big Light Switch got flipped in 1968, with RFK’s assassination. Had he lived, he would have become president, the Vietnam War would have ended much earlier, and we would never have Watergate, which triggered a nefarious Republican Revenge Plot that is currently entering its final stage.

RFK’s assassination is where the timelines split.

Nope. Unsurprisingly the repressive parts of the government will continue to function no matter what. It’s just the “non essential” things like feeding people and ATC that don’t get funded.

Is it possible? Of course it’s possible. America is no longer a country under the rule of law. The fact we haven’t had mass executions, starting from the agent who made the ‘grab’ and continuing up the chain until the finale, ending with the president, for court orders being flagrantly violated for deporting people (and all the other ones as well, but I digress) that a court has said should not be deported, is clear evidence america is done as any sort of functioning democracy.

Of course it’s possible. We cannot allow it within our society, and it’s certainly illegal to do so. The only thing that stops the people who uphold the law from ignoring the law is if people actually stand up to it, since clearly our separation of powers has failed us.

No they won’t, New York has it’s own political capital in the form of a massive city that centralizes international trade and politics, and a tight-knight community around that culture. This is why his election is such a huge deal.

Whoever in the administration is still talking about this is just babbling nonsense for their base so they can look like they’re big strong tough guys who are fighting the eeeevil brown people communists.

If they actually made a plan to deport the fucking mayor of NEW YORK it would get shot down by every court in the land. They know this, everyone with a brain knows this, so that should tell you who this narrative is being written for.

New York is resilient if nothing else. It is a dirty, grimy, hazardous city and you have to learn to look out for each other if you want to survive. If they come after the Zo at this point they will disturb the entire wasp’s nest. The people supporting the fascists are the same ones who are too scared to set foot in NYC on a nicer day

I say this as a proud New Yorker, but also because fuck fascists

Big city mindset is something else altogether than that of the countryside or even small city: it’s an environment that teaches people to have a very low threshold to endure shit from others, even the “nicest” people, because when you live surrounded by thousands of people 24/7 and have to cross paths with literally tens of thousands every day just by walking on the street, enduring shit from others will quickly end up with you getting swamped by crap.

Further, in my own experience (granted, mainly in European cities), the bigger the city the more the people there have a big city’s very own special kind of grit. You can see this is even how pedestrians deal with traffic - the bigger the city the less people are willing to just wait for the signs to change and the more likely they are to just tell somebody blocking the way of other pedestrians to “either fucking move or fucking get out of the way”.

Of the people I’ve known over the years the only ones with an even lower threshold for taking shit than me were New Yorkers.

It’s the kind of action that in the current environment risks triggering a break-up of the US and it’s pretty much a certainty that if that happens Trumpistan isn’t going have any of the rich parts in it.

It might be evil, but it would also be the dumbest thing they’ve done in a long time. I don’t think they are that stupid.
