Hmm… That does sound like very peaceful browsing…

But you could argue that you are just like those people on a Fox News diet? It seems to me, to be pretty bad to only receive news from a single camp?

I know I know, that stuff barely passes as news nowadays, but aren’t we just creating deeper rifts and diferent realities even more?

    Just a thought

I am pretty sure if US starts bombing their country, OP could do shit about it on here.

If it would be announced beforehand lemmy would not be the only thing talking about it so OP would get the message, if it would be announced then all the retroactive posts would not help them.

Might have a chance of doing something if you get armed & trained. Not if you spend your time rotting your brain with foreign propaganda.

if you won’t block the non-kinetic USAn attack with a few clicks, you’re hardly gonna stop a kinetic campaign

Works well for Lemmy (Boost app is great for blocking keywords). It has been really good for me to do this in my news RSS app as well. It has been great to break away from the endless cycle of Trump sating shit to get everyone agitated and then chickening out. It’s a much more peaceful life.

Mind sharing your keywords? I try to keep my political posts to a minimum but I’m sure it could be improved with additional words

Edit: NVM I see you posted Screenshots

    Fwiw, here’s mine:

      I use Voyager.

When I see people posting stuff I don’t want to see but can’t otherwise easily filter (based off link domain or keyword in post title or community name), I will downvote. Once I see a user account with enough net downvotes, that’s a cue for me to consider blocking them.

This works sorta well for me, but someone else’s experience may vary.

Anytime I see someone posting political stuff in non-political communities, I check their post history. Almost without fail they’re only posting political content, so I’ll block them. If I want politics, I’ll read the newspaper.

tbh it’s tough because even worldnews is infected, a ton of posts are essentially Trump/USA says/does/mentions/invades <foreign country>

So somehow even in a forum dedicated to not being about America they are still mentioned
