Sure, but other studios, outside of Rockstar and Mojang, don’t release a game 14 times over 14 years.
When they do launch their game for the 14th time, it typically works.
I’ll give it to you that Bethesda gets a lot of hate over their aging engine and bugs at release, but this game has been released to death, it should either be bug free and over-optimized, or not released at all.

He might be doing some digital now (I’m no longer subscribed and I see some free digital sketches in there), but I know when I subscribed the final work was painted on canvas.
His favorite one of mine is titled “Breath of Adventure”, and I’m fortunate he shared a 4k scan that looks amazing on my monitor.
I spent $50 a year on wallpapers once as a monthly subscription. It was to support an independent artist that hand painted video game scenes I enjoyed, produced 1-3 new paintings per month, granted access to his back catalog, and the deliverable was high quality scans I could download and use at my leisure.
Since he is an artist, and you could feel that each painting took weeks to complete, I felt justified.
Never had a desire to pay for an app with generic wallpapers though, or to financially support someone who generates my annual salary per sponsorship deal.
Explorer tabs is a feature. One which should have been an update instead of an “upgrade”. That’s about it though.
Yep. I’m fortunate enough to be on the other side of the curve, but “it just breaks” when you first start tinkering. The average computer user who will never open the terminal will never run into this problem
Give it to him now? Like, I know he’s doing his own thing with death stranding, but for me a Kojima story and gameplay might be the best way to continue the meta-matrix world post resurrections. Doesn’t have to be an MMO.
So this is basically v3, and they’re trying to gain critical mass adoption vs Adobe.

I don’t think I did originally, but I don’t recall secure boot being an issue with it when I did do the switch. I may have had to install a key or something, but I honestly don’t remember.
I’ve had driver issues with Fedora 42 under secure boot (RTX 3060ti), and Ubuntu seems to be the winner so far that’s playing nice with everything. I haven’t run into any gaming issues yet besides the latest Sonic Racing game not starting.
I love the philosophy of Atomic distros like Kinoite and even run Bazzite on my AMD living room “console”. I’d recommend them all day long to folks new in the space since they’re hard to break by design - especially Bazzite for a gaming machine if invasive anticheat isn’t needed - but it’s not for me.
I actually just switched to Ubuntu 25.10 from Bazzite. Can you recommend me other (non atomic) distros that play nice with both secure boot and nvidia drivers? I don’t think fedora does. I’m not interested in managing keys and certs for my drivers, and do occasionally play those anti-cheat games on a dedicated windows partition. I’d rather not toggle secure boot each time I reboot.

The Bazzite console I built which is connected to my living room TV stands in contradiction. The Linux-driven gaming PC that’s sitting on my desk is confirmation.
Windows 11 and the forced obsolescence of hardware is leaving a sour aftertaste, and at this point a game maker essentially has to choose to not support Linux via Proton.
You might not be able to run Battlefield or CoD, but Marvel Rivals and Overwatch run particularly well, if not better on Linux.
And with Microsoft entering the handheld market, this is very much a question of Linux vs Windows for gaming.

“Something changed” is an off ramp for those who are in too deep to back out without a mental crisis caused by accepting reality. More then they deserve, but it’s a way out while saving face.
Basically Christian Whitehead and a rag-tag group of fans saved the franchise, and it’s been slipping back into old patterns since. Frontiers introduced interesting ideas, but the next game needs to build on that, which, let’s be honest, it won’t.
Just give the franchise to the fans at this point.
I think they’ve always been like this for some of their posts, and honestly I’m considering getting a paid subscription to support them. Sucks, but they’ve been putting out quality content in exchange for your email address and some metrics - I’d call it a fair trade.
